This year we will partner with families to pray for each other.
Families are asked to pray for the 7th graders during one week of the school year.
During that same week, the 7th graders will pray in a special way for that family and their intentions.
What a wonderful way for all of us to increase our prayer life as we reach out to God and to each other!
THIS IS THE PRAYER WE WILL BE SAYING FOR YOU. Thank you for being our prayer partners and keeping us in your prayers!
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come to you to ask you to bless the ____________________________ family in a special way this week. Strengthen their bodies and bless them with good health. Renew the bonds of love they have for each other. Assist each member of the family as they struggle to follow You. Help them in times of trouble, comfort them in sadness, give them peace in their hectic times. Keep them close to You now and always. We ask this through Jesus Christ, your Son and our Brother. Amen
HERE ARE SOME OTHER PRAYERS YOU MIGHT LIKE TO USE.
Prayer for Our Family # 1
Blessed are you, loving Father,
Ruler of the universe:
You have given us Your Son as Your Leader,
And have made us temples of Your Holy Spirit.
Fill our family and all the 7thn graders with Your light and peace.
Have mercy on all who suffer,
And bring us to everlasting joy with You.
Father, We bless Your Name forever and ever. Amen.
A Student's Prayer (by St. Thomas Aquinas) Come, Holy Spirit, Divine Creator, true source of light and fountain of wisdom! Pour forth your brilliance upon our dense intellect, dissipate the darkness which covers us, that of sin and of ignorance. Grant us penetrating minds to understand, retentive memories, method and ease in learning, the lucidity to comprehend, and abundant grace in expressing ourselves. Guide the beginning of our work, direct its progress, and bring it to successful completion. This we ask through Jesus Christ, true God and true man, living and reigning with You and the Father, forever and ever.
Amen.
A Student's Prayer Loving Father, I stand before You in the midst of confusion and complexities of life. My future sometimes seems distant and unknown. Give me, O Lord, the vision to see the path You set before me. Grant me the courage to follow Your way, that through the gifts and talents You have given me, I may bring Your life and Your love to others. I ask this through Jesus, Your Son and my Brother.
Amen
Prayer for our Family - Mother Teresa of Calcutta
Heavenly Father,
you have given us the model of life
in the Holy Family of Nazareth.
Help us, O Loving Father,
to make our family another Nazareth
where love, peace and joy reign.
May it be deeply contemplative,
intensely Eucharistic,
revived with joy.
Help us to stay together in joy
and sorrow in family prayer.
Teach us to see Jesus in the members of our families,
especially in their distressing disguise.
May the Eucharistic heart of Jesus
make our hearts humble like his
and help us to carry out our family duties
in a holy way.
May we love one another
as God loves each one of us,
more and more each day,
and forgive each other's faults
as you forgive our sins.
Help us, O Loving Father,
to take whatever you give
and give whatever you take with a big smile.
Immaculate Heart of Mary,
cause of our joy, pray for us.
St. Joseph, pray for us.
Holy Guardian Angels,
be always with us,
guide and protect us. Amen.
